The Dance of Life and Death
Oct 29 - Day of the Dead Tango Night at Verde Gallery. Most of my photos that turned out were taken during cleanup after the dance ended. You can still get a taste for a few of the costumes, but I missed capturing a lot of magical looking tango dancers. And the wraith-like wafting of dancers' capes and garments flowing and twirling to the music created a dreamlike spectacle. Seen above in reading order - the after hours crowd: vladimir, julia, julia, olena, melih, janice, peter, nikita, ophelia. The impressive exhibit of works for DIA DE LOS MUERTOS by various artistic collaborators in many media will continue through December 4. Additional performance events are scheduled. And other venues are participating with their own shows and events. Twenty percent of the proceeds for the Verde Exhibit will be donated to charity to assist the Latino community in Champaign County.
